After graduating with Highest Honors in Biochemistry from the University of Southern Mississippi (’97),
Dr. James Dobbs attended the University of Mississippi’s School of Medicine in Jackson (’98-’02).
He then fulfilled both Internship and Residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (’02-’05). Where he received The Ben Friedman Award given for excellence in teaching by a senior medical resident.
Dr. Dobbs completed his Cardiology Fellowship (’05-’08) at the Henry Ford Hospital, and his Interventional Cardiology Fellowship (’08-’09) at the University of Alabama Hospital.
He has been an active Fellow of the American College of Cardiology since 2011.
Prior to joining Cardiology Specialists of Acadiana, Dr. Dobbs held a staff cardiologist position at Lafayette Heart Clinic followed by Tennessee Valley Cardiovascular Center in Florence, Alabama.
